5Points Creative wins Gold Telly Award for Center in the Square Production

Roanoke, VA - July 2020.

5Points Creative (5PC) received a top honor at the 41st Annual Telly Awards for its production work with Center in the Square. The full-service marketing and advertising agency’s entry, titled “Abby’s Story”, was named a Gold Award Winner in the showcase’s non-broadcast category. The nearly four-minute video featured the museums, programs, and activities offered by Center in the Square and highlighted the non-profit’s impact on arts and culture in the Roanoke region.

“Obviously, we love to get recognition for our work, and it feels great for the team,” said Bruce C. Bryan, President of 5Points Creative. “The genuine joy comes from knowing we helped such a worthwhile organization like the Western Virginia Foundation for the Arts and Sciences tell their story. It was so rewarding to be able to assist the Center in the Square in their fundraising and awareness-raising efforts.”

Center in the Square opened its first location in 1983. It has since grown to five buildings, providing ten other non-profit arts and culture organizations with free or drastically reduced rent. They also equip non-profit organizations with business services like IT, marketing, and accounting at a discounted rate. Together with its beneficiaries, Center in the Square sustains $30 million in annual economic impact. The organization turned to 5PC to develop a creative and engaging way to share their story with potential supporters.

“Early on, our vision was two-fold,” said Molly Doyle, Director and Editor of “Abby’s Story” and Media Designer at 5Points Creative. “We of course wanted to outline the importance of Center in the Square to the community, but we knew the wonderment of its museums, interactive areas, and educational opportunities would deliver the strongest visual impact. There is no better way to view that excitement than through the eyes of a child. Overall, I’m really proud of how this project turned out and I’m honored to have worked with such a worthy organization.”

“Abby’s Story” marks the ninth Telly Award win for 5Points Creative. Founded in 1979, the Telly Awards is the premier recognition honoring video and television across all screens and is judged by The Telly Award Judging Council; a group of leading video and television experts from some of the most prestigious companies in entertainment, publishing, advertising, and emerging technology.
